Ablution Units and Toilet & Shower Containers

An ablution unit is a sanitary module in which toilets, showers and washbasins are fitted with their plumbing at the factory, then transported to site and connected. It is installed for shared use in construction camps, workforce accommodation, post-disaster and refugee settlements, and event sites.

Nuriş Prefabrik designs, manufactures and installs sanitary modules together with the other camp facilities (dormitories, dining halls, offices and social buildings), so the layout and utility routes are planned as one project.

Types of sanitary modules

  • Toilet and shower block: shared unit combining toilet and shower cubicles; separate male and female entrances can be planned.
  • Wudu (ablution) unit: washing facility placed next to a prayer room in camps and work sites.
  • Portable toilets and field latrines: single or small-group units for sites without infrastructure or for rapid set-up.
  • Bathroom pod: factory-finished bathroom installed inside accommodation units.

Specifications set per project

Module dimensions, number of cubicles, wall and floor finishes, hot water system, ventilation, insulation panels and accessible cubicles are defined according to camp capacity, climate and period of use, and are stated in each quotation.

Where they are used

  • Construction, mining and energy project camps
  • Workforce accommodation and dormitory blocks
  • Post-disaster container cities and refugee camps
  • Remote-site and military camps
  • Fairs, festivals and temporary event sites

Frequently asked questions about ablution units

What is an ablution unit?

An ablution unit is a prefabricated sanitary module with toilets, showers and washbasins, plumbed at the factory and connected to water, wastewater and power on site. It is used in construction camps, workforce accommodation and humanitarian settlements.

What is the difference between a bathroom pod and a toilet and shower container?

A bathroom pod is a factory-finished bathroom placed inside an accommodation unit for private use. A toilet and shower container is a stand-alone shared facility serving a whole block or camp.

Can ablution units work on sites without mains water?

Yes. For sites without a mains connection, units are planned with fresh water storage and wastewater tanks, sized according to the number of users and the emptying schedule.

Can ablution units be shipped abroad?

Yes. Nuriş Prefabrik manufactures in Ankara, Türkiye, and has delivered camp projects abroad, including a petroleum exploration camp in Libya with dormitories, bathrooms, toilets and a dining hall.

How is the price of an ablution unit determined?

Price depends on the number of cubicles, hot water system, interior finishes, insulation, quantity and shipping distance. Dimensions and fittings are set per project and quoted individually.
